Los Angeles based celebrity photographer Mark Robert Halper now offers his professional services at more affordable rates to emerging musicians. As part of his HighlyEffectiveHeadshots business, Mark brings the same work ethic and talent to you as a musician with more limited exposure that he brings to his more established music and celebrity clients (keeping the cost significantly lower than rates that generally apply to a record company).

Note: The music photography on this page have been selected because we believe they are appropriate for the music industry and generally represent the range of imagery you might expect from a HighlyEffectiveHeadshtos music shoot. In some cases, they are celebrity images created for other purposes (such as the Michelle Williams and James Marster's shoots, which were for magazine articles). A few of the images also made use of more extensive resources, such as a wardrobe stylist or location, that are available at an additional fee to musicians.

Pricing and Packages for CD and Music Photography

ALL OF THESE RATES ARE DISCOUNTED FOR MUSICIANS ONLY.

The rates below are appropriate to your pre-label promotion and producing your demo package. Like music, photography is licensed and the cost of the license is dependent on the visibility and use of the images. These prices are for using these images on your website, for flyers and postcards, and for the first 1500 cds printed and/or distributed for one project/album. In other words, they are designed to help get you signed and handle your direct distribution (without having to pay rates appropriate to a signed artist with major distribution). Rates for broader uses are quoted on an individual basis. These prices are generally for images created in the photographer's Los Angeles studio (easily accessable from Orange County, and throughout California).

Mark's services, like most established photographers, aren't inexpensive (although they are only a fraction of his commercial rates). Mark generally only shoots two sessions per day. These rates are based on shooting one person, groups are quoted differently.

• One set-up cash price $625 (regular cost is $750)
• Two set-ups cash price $850 (regular cost is $995)
• Three set-ups cash price $1075 (regular cost is $1250)
• Full day cash price $1500 (regular cost is $1850) A full day is eight hours from when you are scheduled to arrive until we finish shooting the final setup (image selection in done throughout the day). Additional hour increments are $200, schedule allowing. This option can also be adapted for working on location.
• Recommended make-up and hair for women is $185 for the first set-up, and $75 per additional set-up; for men the cost is $150 for the first set-up, and $50 for each additional set-up. A full day is $450.

The shooting and editing process is essentially the same as it is for actors (although the costs are different, to reflect the complexity and use of the images, as well as the time that is generally involved).
