Our Experiences with One Night Affair Wedding Designer Gown Rental in Los Angeles
July, 2007
I suggested to my fiance that she get her dress from One Night Affair. One Night Affair is a Los Angeles based company that rents wedding dresses, which seemed like a much better idea than buying one.
We made a big mistake, I would never do business with One Night Affair again.
When my fiance went to try on dresses, she picked one that she thought she liked, but still wanted to think on. The woman she dealt with seemed nice and professional, and assured her it would be no problem to choose a different wedding dress to rent if she changed her mind, and apply the deposit to another wedding dress rental. This was on a Saturday. They marked the receipt with some notes, my fiance put down a $350 (50%) deposit and went home.
She shared the snapshot of her in her dress with some trusted friends and realized that she didn't make the right call. When she called to make another appointment, the nice people at One Night Affair became the rude and put-out people at One Night Affair. They didn't want to schedule an appointment to try on another dress, as they said they would, and gave her the run around.
They have, in the interim, generally failed to answer phone calls and emails, and take nearly a week to get back (and say nothing) if they do. Needless to say, we have had no other choice but to make other arrangements for the dress, and still can't get the owner on the phone to try for a resolution to this matter.
We hope that others can benefit from our experience, and not do business with One Night Affair.
(note: One Night Affair also owns Budget Bridal Gowns. Budget Bridal Gowns is a company that sells dresses.)
We aren't the only ones who had a less than stellar experience with this gown rental company:
