Danielle Satinover is a San Francisco, California based photo stylist who specialized in Wardrobe, Product, Location, Lifestyle, Laydown Fashion, Still Life, and Room Set photography stylist services. She is especially adept at working with projects that involve multiple styling needs and bringing a strong professionalism to every aspect of her work.

"I've know Danielle for years. Most photo stylists I've worked with are very good at doing whatever I ask them to do, but Danielle is my first call because she has a talent for looking at the entire project and getting done what I don't think to ask her to do. When I need her to, I've asked her to manage many aspects of my pre-production, including casting and location scouting. I know that when she's part of my team, everything that need to get done will get done. She's bright, and she's great to work with."
Mark Robert Halper, Los Angeles based commercial photographer

Danielle's Story (in her own words):
My interest in photography began in high school. I was a student at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, California, in the visual arts magnet school. It was here that as a photography student I fell in love with the medium and began winning awards, most notable from Otis Art Institute of Parsons School of Design (in Los Angeles, California). I continued my study of photography in college at the University of California, San Diego. My B.A. degree is in media production with emphasis in photography and video production. During my course of studies here I focused mainly on fine art black and white photography and social documentary work. My major works included an extensive study on condominium life styles and gender behavior differences around shopping. I graduated in 1985 and was asked to store two of my video works in the permanent collection of the university.

After graduating I began my professional career working for Academy Award winning director Chuck Workman. I remained in his employ for one year helping with four projects including Superstar: The Life and Times of Andy Warhol, Fifty Years of Bugs Bunny in 3 1/2 Minutes the Academy Awards Show, and a study of Alfred Hitchcock for Universal Studios. I then continued my work in media at NBC working in production on The Fresh Price of Bel Air. It was during my session with the show that I realized photography was my passion and began working in professional photography. I started with my own photography studio while learning the ropes of the business assisting other well know photographer. It was during this time in my professional education that I learned about the very many aspects of commercial photography including hair and make up and styling.

In 1994 I moved to the Bay Area, specifically to San Francisco, California. I continued my work in photography but it was here that I began photo styling as a profession. I have humble beginnings working in one of the catalog houses for Macy’s Department Stores in downtown San Francisco. It is here that I began working in many areas of styling including table top, life style, fashion, house wares, linens, lay down fashion, beds and so much more. I soon expanded my client base to include Mervyn’s, Gap and other smaller retailer such as E Luxury. I even spent a year working as one of their photographic stylists for Macy’s in house broadcast division, working exclusively on their television ads. Finally, I have developed and work freelance in commercial advertising. My projects range from simple table top product shots to elaborate life style scenes created entirely on set and everything in between.

I love my work as it is never the same project to project and I enjoy the challenge each image brings. As a photographer’s stylist, I love seeing the creative collaborative process at work and feel at home in any studio large or small. My clients include Sanyo, Sony, Sanrio Hello Kitty, Scot’s Miracle Grow, Kaiser Permanente, Stage Department Stores, 4th Street Lofts, SF Jazz Festival, Muller and Company, Green Haus, and Wolf Advertising.

I look forward to the new projects in my future.
